Home of Carlsberg renews its historical tour of the old brewery site. On the new 50-minute tour, a Home of Carlsberg guide will show guests hidden gems and share stories and anecdotes about the different cultural sights in the Carlsberg City District.
During the tour, guests will learn all about the iconic Elephant Gate and its incredible history. The guides will also take guests inside the old New Carlsberg Brewhouse, which is usually off-limits.
In the New Carlsberg Brewhouse, guests can explore the massive copper boilers and beautiful architecture that have stood the test of time.
Carl Jacobsen had New Carlsberg Brewhouse built in 1901 by architect Vilhelm Klein. Carl Jacobsen's love for beauty and art is evident in every detail, from the terrazzo entrance to the copper sculpture of the Nordic God Thor on the roof and the entire facade, inspired by the Italian masterpiece Palazzo Bevilacqua.
Some of the other stops include the Carlsberg Research Laboratory and Carl Jacobsen's beautiful garden.
There are also plenty of opportunities to ask questions about the historical sights along the way.
The tour can be booked in addition to the exhibition ticket.
