Denmark has a new king and queen, and Carlsberg celebrates this by sending two royal beers to the public so the population can join in toasting and celebrating our new king and queen. The classic labels on Carlsberg Pilsner and Tuborg Grøn have been changed in connection with the throne change.

The new labels feature the greeting "Congratulations to the Royal Couple HM King Frederik X & HM Queen Mary" and will decorate the Carlsberg Pilsner and Tuborg Grøn bottles for a limited period, available for purchase in retail while supplies last.

In addition to giving the Danes the opportunity to celebrate the royal couple with a very special label on the two beers, the brewery has also carefully selected a brew which was delivered as a gift to the royal couple by Home of Carlsberg's draught horses, the day before the succession of the throne.

The beer has an alcohol content of 10% and is brewed on Carlsberg's exclusive barley, which has a nice orange amber colour and aromatic notes of apricot, rhubarb, and peach. The beer is brewed in approximately 800 copies and is given as a gift to the royal couple and the royal household.

Carlsberg became a Purveyor to the Royal Danish Court in 1904, and Tuborg received the predicate in 1914.
