If you have a Copenhagen Card, you can simply use this link to book your tickets for the exhibition.

You can book your tickets 3 months in advance of your visit.

We recommend prebooking your ticket to visit the Home of Carlsberg exhibition. Doing so will secure the best price and a spot at your preferred time.

Tickets are not covered by the cancellation right and are not refundable, cf. section 18, subs. 2 of the Danish Consumer Contract Act.
Therefore, you cannot refund or rebook your tickets.

Scan the QR code from the booking confirmation you received via email at one of our fast-track ticket machines in the courtyard. The machine will print a wristband that is your admission ticket.

The exhibition is a self-guided tour, and there is enough entertainment to last for hours – which you are welcome to – but a typical visit takes around 60-90 minutes.

We do not offer an annual pass. But you are more than welcome to come and visit us as often as you wish. Stay up to date with our events and news by signing up to our newsletter.

At the moment, it is not possible to purchase a gift card.

We accept Danish kroner and Euros (not Euros in coins). Any change will be given in Danish kroner. We accept Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, Dankort, Eurocard, and Mobilepay.

Our main language at Home of Carlsberg is English. All the video material in the exhibition is in English with Danish subtitles. The text panels are in Danish and English. The guided activities are in English.

The guided activities can only be booked as an add-on to your exhibition ticket. 

To access the exhibition with a wheelchair, you must book a guided tour 14 days in advance. Get in touch with us for more information and to book your ticket at [email protected].

Most of Home of Carlsberg can be accessed with a wheelchair. However, due to the many stairs and the old, listed buildings, there will be areas that regrettably can't be accessed with a wheelchair or for walking-impaired, for example, the cellars and some areas of the exhibition.

Please be aware that most of Home of Carlsberg is cobbled.

Disabled people who depend on the aid of a personal assistant only need to purchase a single ticket for admission to the Home of Carlsberg exhibition. Please go to the Ticket Office for a free ticket for the personal assistant – evidence of the need for a personal assistant may be required.

Please note that we can only accommodate wheelchairs no wider than 67 cm. If your wheelchair doesn't fit, don't worry, we have manual wheelchairs available for your visit here.

There is one elevator in the exhibition to which guests with reduced mobility and wheelchair users have priority.

Wheelchair users can access the restaurant from a lift on the terrace at Gamle Carlsberg Vej 11. Contact our staff for assistance.

You are more than welcome to bring your pram to Home of Carlsberg. However, due to the many stairs and limited space in the exhibition, it is unfortunately not possible to bring a pram to the exhibition. While you experience the exhibition, you can park your pram in the courtyard.

To rent a bike near Home of Carlsberg, you can download the Donkey Republic app and look for nearby bicycles to discover the area. 

If you are late, we can't guarantee a spot at the next time slot.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your timeslot so you have the time to collect your admission wristband. This is important, as it helps us regulate the number of people in the exhibition and create the best possible experience for you.

Unfortunately, you have to leave your pet at home.

Service dogs accompanied by their owner can access Home of Carlsberg, including the restaurant.

Everyone is more than welcome to visit Home of Carlsberg. However, if you are under 18, you must be accompanied by an adult.

You must be turned 18 to book a beer tasting. Youth and children are not allowed to participate in the beer tasting. However, they can follow an adult to the event for free.

There is a small smoking area in the courtyard.

Yes, you can place your belongings in the lockers next to the ticket office. Please note that they are locked by code but it is at your own risk.

Yes, we are still brewing beer at the top of Valby Bakke in Copenhagen and have done so since 1847. Although Carlsberg moved most of the beer production to Fredericia in 2008, beer is still brewed at Husbryggeriet Jacobsen, part of Home of Carlsberg. Husbryggeriet Jacobsen provides beer to a wide range of festivals and restaurants, among others, the restaurant at Home of Carlsberg.

Find toilets in the exhibition, Carlsberg Bar, the courtyard, and the restaurant. Here, you will also find disability-accessible toilets. They are all clearly marked. Please reach out to our staff if you need help finding them.

The swastika is an ancient symbol in most cultures and symbolises the sun's path in the sky, which is why some people also call it the sun sign. The swastika is a compound word meaning "that which brings happiness" and was until 1945 also used by Carlsberg as decoration on e.g. labels.

We run the stables at Home of Carlsberg with the well-being and welfare of the horses as our main priority. In short, it's about giving the horses the opportunity to fulfil their species-specific needs. We have a light and airy stable where they have plenty of space to relax. The horses come to the paddock every day in groups of 2-4 horses to have the opportunity to socialise with the other horses. The paddock is in J.C. Jacobsen’s Garden. They are fed with free access to straw fodder to fulfil their chewing needs. They work five days a week, for about an hour at a time. In addition to driving, we ride them in nature to exercise and give them a varied day. In the summer, they spend five weeks in the countryside to relax and recharge. We get regular visits from the farrier and vet when needed.

We have a long history and tradition of having horses at Carlsberg. Carlsberg has had horses since its foundation in 1847, and around 1925, we had 200 horses. Today, we have horses to keep the tradition and the business alive. Although we no longer deliver beer by horse-drawn carriage, we still visit customers several times weekly.

Driving a horse-drawn carriage is an art and a craft, and we want to help keep it alive. It's a great way to train and exercise the horses. We drive with two or four horses at a time, which also means that the horse goes with other conspecifics, which is the most natural thing for them. The tradition is also very important to many people; those who work with it and those we meet in the stables at Home of Carlsberg and out in the city.

The ponies are our mascots, and they also have their own small horse-drawn carriage used for special occasions. They also act as companions and company for the other horses and are especially popular with our guests. Right now, our two ponies have one foal each, which will stay with us in the stable until the beginning of 2025. From 2025, they will move to the countryside for a few years. When they are around 3 years old, we will bring them back to the stables at Home of Carlsberg.
